The Research Office assists the Office of the Dean with the management of internal funding programs, and the review of external research grant applications and contracts for Faculty approval. The Office is overseen by Dr. Catherine Mulligan, Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Studies.
Research Visitors to Concordia - it is possible to invite visiting scientists, and students visiting from other universities to do research (though not take courses) at Concordia University, as well as to invite visiting Postdoctoral Fellows, Research Associates and Non-student Researchers to Concordia (also purely in a research capacity). Please fill in and submit the appropriate form from the "Research Support" menu on the right hand side of this page.

Please note that applications and letters of intent for research grant are reviewed for Faculty approval. In addition to providing the required number of copies of an application to the Office of Research, a copy of the application or letter of intent must be provide for the Faculty's files. Grant Applications along with completed and duly signed internal forms should be submitted prior to the internal deadlines set by the Office of Research. Georgia assists the Office of the Dean with the management of ENCS funding programs, and with the review of external research grant applications and research contracts during the Faculty approval process. Internal research grants programs administered by the Faculty include CARA Funds, Start-Up Funds, and the Graduate Student Support Program.
Along with these responsibilities, Georgia manages and provides information regarding the appointment and payment of research personnel, postdoctoral fellows and students. She also reviews purchase requisitions for purchases of $5,000 or greater requiring Faculty approval (for those charged to research funds only). Georgia reviews research grants, contracts and agreements and identifies potential resource commitments requiring Faculty approval. She provides financial information and guidelines to faculty members regarding research grants/contracts once they have been awarded. Furthermore, Georgia supplies Faculty members with information regarding funding programs, reviews research applications and contracts for Faculty approval prior to submission to the Office of Research, and works closely with the Research Facilitator regarding external grant applications. Georgia also advises faculty and staff on matters related to financial, research and postdoctoral fellow policies. She disseminates information and manages ENCS research funding and scholarship programs, provides research funding reports and appointments to ENCS departments for internal management and for external surveys, and suggests faculty members regarding research expertise.

Lori is responsible for reviewing and processing research contracts for ENCS, including following up when information is incomplete. She also provides administrative support to the Associate Dean, the Research Officer and to the Grants Facilitator. Lori maintains all ENCS Internal funding programs and databases including the administration of research bursaries, processes graduate students’ academic and supervisory issues and also maintains graduate student and research files.
