Academic and Personnel Affairs

 



Whereas the Student Academic Services unit services the needs of students, the Academic & Personnel Affairs Office assists the Associate Dean in the academic administration related to faculty personnel and academic teaching aspects.

The Office institutes the Faculty Critical Path for meeting administrative deadlines required of our various union's collective agreements, as well as providing support to the Dean and to Advisory Search Committees.

The Office also coordinates full-time and part-time academic personnel and teaching activities in accordance with CUFA and CUPFA collective agreements and University policies. It is responsible for implementing Faculty procedures that relate to Human Resources policies.

Its mission is to develop and enforce consistencies of policies and procedures across departments within the faculty and to initiate system changes to improve the administrative processes and control of personnel and teaching matters in the Dean's Office.

Donna Hum

Donna is responsible for:

  • the management of the full-time course load assignments, part-time loads and contracts, and teaching assistant contracts;
  • the coordination of team efforts of all departments to meet common deadlines in adherence to the collective agreements;
  • initiating and developing system improvements for the effective and efficient operation of the Faculty.

Nella Fiorentino, Academic Personnel Administrator

Nella Fiorentino

Nella is responsible for:

  • Full time faculty contracts;
  • The processing of adjunct appointments within the faculty;
  • Execution of critical path for adherence to collective agreement.
