ENCS Course Support

AITS supports ENCS supported courses with computer labs and required software. In addition, the instructor of an ENCS supported course can request

  • A course account which can be used to build the course web page
  • Electronic Assignment Submission (EAS)

The course account (also referred to as group account) and Electronic Assignment Submission (EAS) are not available by default. The EAS course registration is done on this page (For course instructor only).

The information about VLSI, real-time, 490 Projects, etc, can be found on the Services page.

FAQ

If the users submit their assignment 15 minutes after they fill the username and password in Electronic Assignment Submission Form, they get the error message:

 --------------------------------

Your authentication as ENCS User Account holder expired.

 Please go back to:

https://fis.encs.concordia.ca/eas/

form and reauthenticate yourself. Note that an authenticated session

 is 15 minutes long"

 --------------------------------

It does not say that their ENCS account expired but that their authentication as a ENCS account holder for the current http session has expired. It mentions how to reauthenticate themselves.

So you must use a browser that accepts internet cookies. Once you authenticate yourself as an ENCS User, you will have 15 minutes to submit your work. If you don’t submit in this time you will have to re-authenticate and the browser will start a new session in which you will again have 15 minutes before cookies expire.

The EAS system sends an automatically generated email message at the beginning of each term to all course instructors and markers with the info and updates about the system and the URL where they can register their course section for EAS. It is not necessary any longer for a course instructor to send email and request course registration for EAS. It is the course instructors' responsability to register their course section themselves at the URL provided. It takes only a couple of seconds.

Note that a course instructor can register only his/her course section for EAS. Each course section is independent of the other(s) from both the instructor and markers point of view, i.e. markers of a section will not be able to access the submissions of another section. The URL for EAS is:
