Configuring CATIA Licensing

Prior to running CATIA you need to install and configure LUM License Manager required to run the software. The CD can be borrowed from EV007.182.

NOTE: If you are a student and you want to borrow the CD, we require that your supervisor send us an email to servicedesk@encs.concordia.ca approving the request.

The setup procedure is as follows:

  1. Install completely LUM License Manager by running the executable winintel\arkwin467.exe
  2. Click on Start>Programs>License Use Runtime>Configuration Tool for configuring the licensing server.
  3. Check Network License Client and click the forward arrow.

  1. Under name enter license-catia.encs.concordia.ca and click <<Add, leaving all the other settings as shown.

  1. Close the Configuration Tool, you will be asked to save the changes click Yes.
  2. Launch CATIA and when license info is displayed (ED2) confirm it.

To check if the licensing service is running go to Start>Programs>License Use Runtime>Basic License Tool and you will see a number of licenses listed, their status, and their availability.

Important: If you are behind a firewall make sure you configure you firewall to accept connections from wont.encs.concordia.ca. For more info on configuring Windows XP firewall click here.

Note: If you had previously CATIA installed and running but the license is not working please follow the above steps to add the new licensing server and at step 4 remove the previous configured license server.
